We know that smoking in general is really harmful. It can cause lung cancer, throat cancer, heart disease and a lot different health issues.
But what about passive smokers ? Are they exposed to any health risks because of the active smokers ?
The problem is smoke stays in the air for hours. So it doesn't matter if you are not smoking, if you are sitting in a room with someone who does, you will unfortunately inhale the smoke and it will end up in your organism, even with a window open.
So yes, the sad news is - you can damage your body if you are a passive smoker, because secondhand smoke contains more than 4,000 chemicals. Some of them will not do anything to your organism, while on the other hand there are those who may cause you a cancer.
Exposure to other people's smoke can definitely increase your risk of having hung cancer, or any other health issue even if you are a non-smoker. That doesn't have to mean you will definitely get it, it just means you have more chances of getting it, than people who are not hanging out with those who smoke, or are smokers.
Passive smoking from all forms of tobacco is harmful, which includes: pipe tobacco, cigars, cigarettes, hand-rolling tobacco and waterpipes.
What you can do in order to prevent any damage to your organism, is simply to avoid rooms where people are smoking ( we are talking about people who are not smokers ).
Wait until they finish with it, and then hang out with them. That's the only way you will be able to preserve your health.
